Abstract

ABSTRACT: In Latin American and Caribbean countries, accessibility criteria are increasingly being incorporated into tourism activities. In this context, the availability of adapted infrastructure and services is a key factor in ensuring more inclusive and competitive tourism. Tourism organizations that fail to adequately address the needs of persons with disabilities and other groups with specific accessibility requirements may limit their ability to serve an increasingly relevant market segment. In this regard, the main objective of this research is to propose actions aimed at meeting accessibility requirements at Hotel Nacional de Cuba. To this end, the accessibility guidelines proposed by the Government of Argentina and non-participant observation were applied. In the first stage, the study provided a diagnosis of the hotel's existing accessibility conditions. Subsequently, a set of actions was proposed in accordance with the requirements established by the assessment tool and the findings of the diagnosis. The results provide useful guidance for improving accessibility conditions at the hotel and advancing toward a more inclusive tourism offering. KEYWORDS: Accessibility; persons with disabilities; Hotel Nacional de Cuba; accessible tourism; accessibility requirements.
